How to make a rope trivet
Rope trivet made of jute rope – both practical and stylish. This is a simple DIY tip that won’t take long to do. In this video, we’ll show you step by step how to create your own pot holder.
You’ll need the following materials:
- Jute rope
- Glue gun
- Cardboard
- Scissor
- Knife
Follow these simple steps
Start by cutting out a circle in the desired size for your rope trivet. Take the jute rope, bend the end, and start wrapping around the rope until you have enough rope to cover the cardboard circle. Cut off excess rope by placing a piece of tape where you want to cut and using the knife. Use the glue gun to glue the end of the rope. Mark the center of the circle if you want with a pen to know where to start wrapping the rope, I went by sight which wasn’t super good but that can easily be corrected at the end. Bend the end of the rope, wrap around, and glue a good blob of glue in the middle of the cardboard circle. Press the rope firmly before pressing it into the glue. Press until it has hardened. Put a new glue strand around the rope, wrap around, glue, press with your fingers, and wrap the rope almost to the edge of the cardboard. Mine wasn’t so centered, so I have some cardboard left on the edge, but we’ll fix that easily. Just take out the scissors and cut away the excess. That’s it! It’s not harder than that to create a neat rope trivet. Good luck!
