Elastic mooring/docking line

Elastisk förtöjningslina

Elastic mooring line, what does it mean?

An elastic mooring line is a type of mooring line that allows you, in most cases, to avoid the need for a shock absorber on your boat. This is thanks to the elasticity of the rope, which means that you are not disturbed by creaking springs. This type of mooring line has become very popular and appreciated because it is quiet and also lasts a long time. An elastic mooring line is made of polyester and has a shock absorbing fiber in it.

There are different types of elastic mooring lines

There are different types of elastic mooring lines. 3-stranded and braided. We have a total of three different variants of this type of mooring line:

  • Storm
  • StormX
  • Dockline.

The Storm mooring line is the traditional 3-strand version that has won best in test several times.

The StormX mooring line is an update of Storm and features a braided sheath with a 3-strand core.

The Dockline mooring line is the mooring line we recommend for larger boats. Like StormX, it has a braided casing but instead of 3-stranded polyester core, it has nylon core.

The ropes are suitable for different purposes

Our elastic mooring lines fit differently in different places. If you are going to use your line as a fixed mooring, Storm will be the best choice. Thanks to the fact that it is 3-stranded, it is also very easy to splice and get the right length. This line is also by far the best choice for sluicing. Storm X and Dockline are great all-round options that also attract attention with their many different color variants. No matter which of these lines you choose, you will get resilience in your mooring line.

Summary – This is an elastic mooring line

  • A mooring line that has built-in shock absorption
  • This is a rope that replaces external shock absorbers
  • A flexible line that eliminates the need for creaking springs that interfere with sleeping in the boat.
