Stopper knot
The Stopper Knot or Oysterman’s Stopper as it is also known is a knot originally used by dock workers during the loading and unloading of ships. Today it is used both in sailing and on land. It is particularly useful when you want a secure and slightly larger knot at the end of a rope. A stopper knot is good to be able to make so that the rope cannot run through your hand, for example.
