Mooring buoys

Choose a mooring buoy with the right size, lifting capacity, and of high quality. A mooring buoy should be able to handle chain weight but should not be so strong that it doesn't get pulled under when put under severe strain.

We have mooring buoys with short and long rods. It is important that the buoy rod has the correct dimensions in order to withstand heavy strain. Loop and rod dimensions should be at least 1,5 times the chain thickness, but should not be thinner than 13 mm (protective cover of rod not included in calculation). If a chain swivel is used its strength should not be less than the buoy rod.

We recommend that you use a buoy made of hard plastic that is filled with foam.
