Mooring/docking line for when boating through a lock. Elastic and 20 meters long. Best in class. STORM
Mooring line Storm is a 3-stranded rope made of 60% polyester and 40% jerk-absorbing flexible fibers. This makes the entire mooring line elastic, which counteracts rough and unexpected tugs of the boat.
The mooring/docking line is delivered with a finished eye in one end, sewn with our patended IQ-line seam. Eye is reinforced with anti-wear-and-tear made of 100% polyester silk. Along the mooring line an extra, reinforced wear protection is added which you can adjust yourself when needed e.g. for instances when the rope may be exposed extra.
What are its advantages?
A 3-stranded rope/line can easily be used when boating through a lock since it is more difficult for leaves and pines to be caught in it.
The line has five years of UV protection and does not float.
The mooring line’s elastic properties means you do not need to invest in additional jerk-/tug-absorbers, metal hooks, shackles, carbine hooks etc. Metal parts and other accessories will in this case act weaknening and should not be used together with Storm.
The Storm mooring line is manufactured in the EU, a majority of it taking place at our factory in Vårgårda, Sweden.
STORM received Best in class when the magazine Praktiskt Båtägande tested permanent docking lines. Mooring/docking line STORM was the only line which passed, and even exceeded, the maximum capacity load. It was also the most cost-effective line of the test, which proves that quality does not always have to be pricy. Praktiskt Båtägande no. 9 2014
The STORM mooring line from PolyRopes scored Best in Class again when Praktiskt Båtägande tested mooring lines 5 years later in the autumn of 2019. PolyRope’s Storm is the mooring line with the best total score – winning the test. Praktiskt Båtägande no. 9 2019
“Better than advertised” was the review from DagensBåtliv when they tested the STORM mooring line.
PolyRope’s STORM also came in top place at the Gothenburg, Stockholm and Helsinki boat shows.
