Lanyards – Fall arrest lanyards from 3M™ Protecta® and DBI-SALA®

The fall arrester acts as a link between the safety harness and the fall protection connector. The fall arrest device absorbs the energy generated during a fall by means of a sewn strap in the fall arrest device that unfolds and slows down the speed of the fall – the body is not exposed to forces greater than 6 kN.

It is important to use the fall arrest lanyard/fall arrest device in the right situations, i.e. when the potential fall height is generally greater than 6 meters. At potential fall heights lower than approx. 6 meters, a fall arrest block should be used, as the block brakes and stops a possible fall more quickly.

The fall arrest device must be certified according to CE EN355.
