Protect your boat with boat tarp from Toptex Blue Cover
This revolutionary boat tarp takes boat protection to a whole new level. With its superior quality and unique features, Blue Cover is the perfect choice for boaters who want to give their boat the best protection during the winter. 3 years warranty included.
A ventilating boat cover
One of the most impressive features of this boat tarp is its breathability. It allows air to pass through and thus prevents moisture from accumulating under the fabric, eliminating the risk of mold formation and protecting the boat from moisture damage. Some water will penetrate, and then evaporate again thanks to the breathable properties. This keeps your boat dry and protected in all weather conditions.
Another great advantage of its breathable property is that it stays quiet and calm and does not rustle in the wind. Which means that it does not blow apart as a traditional tarpaulin tends to do.
Easy to handle and 100% recyclable
Blue Cover is made of 100% recyclable polypropylene and is thus a more sustainable alternative to traditional boat tarpaulins. It is lightweight and can be easily handled by one person, saving time and effort. Its durable construction ensures that it will last for many years to come, making it a cost-effective investment for you as a boat owner.
The perfect boat tarpaulin that offers superior quality
With Blue Cover, you no longer have to deal with complex, time-consuming, expensive and, above all, environmentally hazardous shrink wrap or heavy and cumbersome tarpaulins that easily blow apart and trap moisture. This is the perfect boat cover that offers superior quality, ease of use and outstanding protection for your valuable boat. The cover is made from endless fibre strands placed in a pattern, giving the cloth its controlled strength and longevity.
Choose Blue Cover and give your boat the best protection it deserves. With this groundbreaking tarpaulin for your boat, you will not only save money and time, but also contribute to a better environment.
Important that the canvas is stretched with at least 30 degrees of inclination
To obtain effective water drainage, it is important that the canvas is properly stretched and has a slope of at least 30 degrees. The optimum slope is 45 degrees, especially when there is a lot of snow. To get a good stretch and anchoring, we recommend that you use Velcro for anchoring or for hanging weights in.
There are several different ways to fix your boat tarpaulin. As mentioned above, it is important that the cover is always stretched and inclined at least 30° (optimally 45°) to allow water to drain away.
Since the cloth has a fuzzy surface, you can advantageously attach Velcro directly to the cloth without damaging it or the Velcro. You can use this to, for example: Create loops that you then hang weights in to let the canvas hang freely. This is the ultimate if you want to be able to get under the boat and eg. Bottom paint, without having to remove the tarpaulin.
You can also fold the cloth under the boat and attach directly with Velcro or tie rubber bands or other ropes to the Velcro to attach under the boat or in eg. a trailer. Scroll a little further down to see illustrations of how you can proceed.
Fleece cover compared to Toptex Blue Cover
The difference between Toptex Blue Cover and a fleece-based cover is that the fleece cover consists of uncontrolled fibre threads that give the cover uneven strength, less UV protection and a shorter lifespan. The fleece binds water, which means that the pores are clogged and do not ventilate. This can eventually create moisture and mould damage. TopTex Blue Cover, on the other hand, is made from proprietary endless fibre strands that are placed in a specific pattern, giving the fabric its controlled strength, ventilation and long life.
What is the difference between this tarpaulin and a traditional one?
There are several differences:
Toptex Blue Cover | Traditional tarpaulin |
Breathable | Non-ventilating |
Allows moisture & water to evaporate | Traps moisture & water |
Low wind catch | High wind catch |
Quiet and calm in windy weather | Rustles and blows easily |
Lightweight & super strong | Often heavy and unwieldy, or lightweight with lousy quality |
Recyclable | Cannot be recycled |
What is the difference between this tarp and a bale cover?
There are several differences. Toptex cloths are of much higher quality when it comes to abrasion resistance, UV resistance and durability. It doesn’t crumble, and if there are holes in the canvas, it won’t get any bigger. Toptex Blue Cover is further developed to suit boating, counteract moisture and mould damage and last for several years.
A bale covering cloth of another brand quickly shows mould and moisture damage and begins to crumble after just a few months. If there is a hole, it will quickly become larger, unlike a Toptex cloth, which has a virtually non-existent damage spread. A bale covering cloth is not recommended for boating. How does it cope with strong autumn and winter winds?
The cloth has been tested on several boats during the autumn and winter season with several storm winds, where the results have been consistently incredible. The tarpaulins were basically untouched. This is thanks to the very durable construction, and its breathable function.
How does it cope with snow?
As long as the cover has an angle of at least 30 degrees, and optimally 45 degrees, both snow and water will slide off. The steeper the angle, the better. Should any snow stick to the canvas, it will drain off when the snow melts.
How do you anchor this boat tarpaulin?
There are several different ways to anchor. But regardless, you will need a cover rack of any form to create a slope of the canvas of at least 30 degrees. This is to get an efficient drainage of water.
To anchor, we recommend using Velcro, which you advantageously attach directly to the fuzzy surface of the canvas. The Velcro can be used to fasten the cloth under the boat, or to create loops with. Either to hang weights in, or to attach ropes to which you tie under the boat. Scroll a little further down to see illustrations and instructional videos.
Is the boat tarpaulin waterproof?
Some moisture and water will penetrate the cloth, and then evaporate again thanks to the breathable properties. This keeps your boat dry and protected in all weather conditions. Unlike a traditional tarpaulin that traps moisture and water because it cannot breathe in the same way.
How does it work if you have a mast, targa booth, antenna or other protruding from the boat?
No problem at all! The canvas is excellent to cut / splice to adapt to your particular boat. Then seal with the help of Velcro. Here you can see how we spliced the canvas of a sailboat with a targa bow.
What is a 3 year warranty?
We guarantee continued functionality for at least 3 years, even if the cover is exposed to UV light 365 days a year. Thus, if you only use the cloth during the winter months, you can more than double the service life.
