How to make a macrame bracelet

Makrame bracelet that is both stylish and easy to make! I’m using an orange polyester line, it comes in several other colors so you can create a bracelet that suits you. In the video, I’ll show you how to do it.

You’ll need the following materials:

  • Thread, I use polyester line
  • Scissor
  • Tape
  • Lighter

Here’s how you do it

ou need to cut two threads that are about 40 cm and 2 that are about 100 cm. Start by taking the two long threads and one of the short ones. Take the threads together and tie a knot, about 7 centimeters in on the threads. Tape the knot to the table and also tape the shorter thread a little further down.

Place the left thread as a 4 so that the left thread is over the short thread and under the right. Take the right thread and thread it under the short thread and over the left thread. Pull on both ends and a knot is formed.

Now we do the same thing again but we start with the right thread instead. The right thread is placed as a backward 4, where the thread is over the middle thread and under the left thread. Then we take the left thread and thread it under the middle thread and through the loop that the right thread has formed, then pull on both ends.

Continue to do the same thing again and again until you have the desired length of the bracelet. When you are satisfied with the length, pull the left and right strings tightly and cut them off. Then burn the ends so they don’t unravel. Untie the knot and do the same on the other side.

Now we are going to create the lock on the bracelet so that it becomes adjustable. Fold the threads parallel to each other, so that the ends point away from each other. Tape the threads to the table so that they are stretched towards the table. Take the short thread we have over and thread it under the threads. Here we are going to make 4 double macrame knots and we tie in the same way as before.

When you are done, remove the tape and cut the threads and burn the ends. Tie a knot at the end of the loose threads, burn the end. It’s done!
