StormX mooring line – Elastic and durable
Our popular StormX is the flagship of our mooring lines. It is elastic along its entire length, eliminating the need for additional shock absorbers. The eye is sewn with our patented and durable stitch. For extra protection, the rope comes with two removable wear protectors.
The difference between Storm and StormX mooring lines
StormX is a further development of Storm. The main difference is the 100% polyester cover that protects the core. This makes the rope more comfortable to handle and allows for multiple colour options to match your boat.
The right dimension gives the right suspension
For optimal suspension with StormX, it is important not to oversize the line. The rope needs the weight of the boat to function effectively. A rope that is too thick becomes too stiff and can cause damage to the boat or jetty.
Add a mooring compensator below 50 cm rope length.
If the length of the mooring line between the cleat and the Y-boom is less than 50 cm, we recommend a Bungy Mooring Spring for optimal spring action. If the rope is longer than 50 cm, no additional shock absorber is required.
Which dimension should I use?
If the boat is moored in a very exposed location (constant strong winds & heavy waves), you should go up a dimension (from 14 mm to 12 mm)
