A unique manufacturing process

During manufacture, this jute rope is treated with VOT (vegetable oil). This process makes the fibres easier to work with and provides some protection against moisture. Thanks to the vegetable oil, the rope does not have the typical smell of petrol or diesel, making it both more environmentally friendly and more pleasant to use.

The difference between JBO and plant-based mineral oil

We use plant-based mineral oil in our products and have chosen not to use JBO. The plant-based oil is made from renewable raw materials and is biodegradable, making it a more natural and environmentally conscious alternative. It provides good protection and a pleasant surface without containing any synthetic additives.

JBO, on the other hand, is a synthetically produced oil. It is very stable and less affected by temperature and storage time, but is not based on natural or renewable raw materials. The difference therefore lies mainly in origin and environmental impact: plant-based mineral oil is chosen for its natural content, while JBO is chosen for its technical properties.
